New Program: Learning Labs

Although busy work schedules and a lengthy 'to do' list may be a fact of life - don't let that stop you from continuing to learn!

This summer, Sustainable Path will hold several learning labs in the Seattle area.

Current ideas include:
  • The pros/cons of genetically modified genes - both in our food and for fighting climate change related diseases, such as the Zike virus.
  • Affordable housing/density: Built Environment and Transporation
We will invite experts to give us an overview of the topic and relevant resources, and have a round of Q&A. Following the presentation, we'll have a lively dialogue among ourselves. A learning lab will meet twice, with any future meetings determined by the participants.

If you want to receive emailed invitations to the learning labs, please contact Lee:

Impact Circle - 6 recommended the following three organizations to the board for our spring grant cycle. Each has been awarded a $10,000 one-year grant.

Delridge Neighborhood Development Association (DNDA):  Wetlands and Stewardship project  DNDA led a group of six organizations to acquire, restore and protect the wetlands at 23rd SW and SW Findlay street. They will create a community permaculture demonstration garden and a children's garden.

Jefferson Land Trust (JLT): Chimacum Commons  JLT recently acquired 16 acres of historic farmland adjacent to Chimacum Creek. Their long-term vision for this site is to preserve it as farmland for aspiring farmers and build small, ecological dwelling units for farm interns and workers.
