On 26 April 2016 a workshop is organised by NERA about the Energy transition route in Dutch research. The goal of this workshop is to discuss the many opportunities for Dutch research to make a big impact in sustainable energy. This workshop will take place in the Jaarbeurs - Utrecht (NL).

Energy Storage & Smart Grids will be the theme of this congress on 9 June 2016. Quite a relevant theme since energy storage is invitable in the energy transition. As energy storage is often connected to a smart grid, smart grids will also be addressed during the day. read more >

Green Challenge competition - Copenhagen
Three TU/e students will compete with other (international) students at the Green Challenge organized by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) on 24 June 2016. One student 'Sustainable Innovation' will represent team FAST. Two students of Industrial Design will present their 'Serious Game' which focuses on different actors being part of the Energy Transition in the Netherlands. read more >

Subsidy for Dutch energy innovation projects open per 1 April 2016
RVO recently published the opening of 9 different subsidy programs for energy innovation projects. These are part of the Topsector Energy program to stimulate research, development and demonstrations on the topics of renewable energy, emery savings and smart applications. read more >

Energie dialoog Nederland
Last January the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs published a new Energy white paper 'Transitie naar Duurzaam' (Transition to sustainable). Key elements in the approach are the reduction of CO2 emissions, using the economic opportunities the energy transition offers an integration of energy in planning. On 7 April one of the dialogue sessions was held at Strijp-S in Eindhoven. Main themes: Transport and Power and Lighting. read more >

Fuel from sunlight
Richard van de Sanden (DIFFER) and Erwin Kessels (TU/e) have received 1.6 million euros to make liquid fuels from green electricity, water and carbon dioxide. They are working together with Syngaschem BV to gain an understanding of the fundamental principles behind this form of fuel production. read more >

Interreg-V project PV OpMaat kicked-off
A regional consortium of eight knowledge institutes, including the TU/e departments Built Environment and Applied Physics, and a large number of companies has started a collaboration with a budget of 7 million to enable the integration of solar panels in the built environment more efficiently, more esthetically and cheaper. read more (Dutch) >
