AN ELECTRIFYING ATMOSPHERE AT MIDLANDS APRIL GRADUATION
Packed to its capacity with an electrifying atmosphere, the DUT Midlands April 2016 graduations began at the FJ Sithole Hall, Indumiso Campus, yesterday (Tuesday, 13 April).
The excitement on the faces of the students and parents were difficult to miss.
Lindani Mncube, a Bachelor of Technology in Nursing student is ecstatic about graduating cum laude and receiving the prestigious Dean’s Merit Award for Academic Excellence.
Mncube graduated at the DUT Indumiso Campus, Pietermaritzburg during the University’s Health Sciences Faculty’s graduation ceremony.
A total of 5418 students will graduate at the Durban University of Technology’s April Graduation Ceremonies set to start on Wednesday, 13 April 2016.
An Honourary Doctorate in Arts and Design will be conferred to liberation struggle veteran, human rights activist and South African icon, Ahmed Kathrada, on Friday, 22 April 2016 at 14h00 – for his outstanding contribution towards South African human rights and social justice.
The Urban Futures Centre at the Durban University of Technology (UFC@DUT) together with the University’s Faculty of Arts and Design, will be hosting a public screening of the short film ‘Homeless’ by Durban based writer and director, Nathan Rice. This film has been nominated for the Student Academy Awards 2016. The screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion with Nathan Rice.
