More than 300 secondary school teachers across Belgium attend our cultural and religious diversity training courses

Between November 2015 and March 2016, CEJI gave more than 20 training courses on various topics such as 'Understanding and managing cultural diversity in my class and my professional practice', 'Better understanding Judaism and contemporary manifestations of Antisemitism' and 'Understanding Islam and contemporary manifestations of Islamophobia'. These training courses have so far taken place in Hainault, Namur, Liège, Luxembourg province and Brussels. The final training course of our extraordinary six month journey across Belgium took place towards the end of March at the Athénée Royal d'Ixelles, closing a cycle that brought together more than 300 secondary school teachers since we began back in November 2015. Overcoming Antisemitism and Overcoming Islamophobia in Paris

We are currently running a training course on ‘Overcoming Antisemitism and Overcoming Islamophobia’ in Montreuil in France for the fist time. Contact CEJI training co-ordinator Stéphanie Lecesne for further information on upcoming training courses.

Jewish and Muslim Women Workshop

The Jewish and Muslim Women Workshop, organized by CEJI on 13 March, brought together Jewish and Muslim women from Belgium. The workshop was an opportunity to reflect on the role of Jewish and Muslim women in the modern world, and included a visit of the European synagogue in Brussels. A big thanks to European Jewish Community Centre (EJCC) who hosted us, especially to Nehama Uzan-Avil, and also to Rabbi Rosenblum who led the visit of the synagogue.

Guidelines for Acknowledging and Monitoring Antisemitism On- and Offline
In these guidelines, we look at the origins of the word 'antisemitism' and examine other terms and working definitions. We also give concrete examples of antisemitism, and compare criticism of Israel with antisemitic criticism of Israel and look at where the line should be drawn. Download your free copy.

‘Get the Trolls Out!’

As part of the Get the Trolls Out project, CEJI is responsible for media monitoring and denouncing antisemitic hate speech in traditional and new media. Check out the most recent Monthly Highlights, in which we select key antisemitic hate speech incidents in the project countries involved (Belgium, France, UK, Greece, Hungary) to deconstruct antisemitic stereotypes. The Ousted Troll of the Month is an incident we choose every month to show positive outcome in the fight against antisemitism in Europe.
