NYS Removes Bars for Hepatitis C Medication. The NYS DOH Drug Utilization Review Board (DURB) voted to eliminate most restrictions on prescribing hepatitis C medications in Medicaid fee-for-service.

New York Insurers to Change Coverage of Hepatitis C Drugs. Wall Street Journal. Deal requires seven insurers to cover the drugs for most patients with commercial insurance plans.

Ed Manchess

Ed was first diagnosed with hepatitis non-A/non-B while in a rehabilitation facility, before hepatitis C was even coined as a term. As a person who works in the field of health services, Manchess is angered by how difficult it was for him to navigate the medical system. He feels strongly about helping others less fortunate and has made sacrifices to do so. Read Ed's story.
