The Ministry has been advised that Early Learning services have been receiving what appears to be a SPAM email originating from the United Kingdom. A copy of the content of the email is provided below.
At this stage we have had no reports of the email containing any malicious software but services are advised to treat this with caution and to ensure all necessary ICT security settings are in place and up to date.
We will keep you informed through He Pānui Kōhungahunga if we receive any further information pertaining to this issue.
In the meantime we suggest that services do not respond to this email and delete the email from your system.

My name is Susan Wilson; my daughter and I will be coming to New Zealand for 5weeks. My company is sending me on a business trip to oversee the set-up of a new warehouse outlet. We would be staying from Sunday 10th of April to Sunday 15th of May 2016. As I will be working all week-days, I require the services of a Day Care or Child Care provider for my daughter from Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm each week for 5weeks. I am a single mother and my daughter (Tracy Wilson) is 3years old.
I will be elated if you can have my daughter on a short-term basis at your daycare for 5weeks. She will be able to easily adapt to a new daycare environment as she's already use to going to nursery each morning here in London, she is fully potty trained and has no allergies. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts, recommendation and the total costs for your daycare services including activities, breakfast, lunch and snacks (all inclusive package).
I'm 43 years old and a senior accountant, working with Woodburn Foods Limited here in the United Kingdom. I will be happy to pay in advance of my visit to guarantee your services during my stay. I look forward to hearing from you, many thanks.
