April: the month of new beginnings.  During the winter, trees draw all of their resources into their roots, safe from freezing winds.  Spring brings new life rising up through yesterday’s sturdy branches. Nature shows us continuous cycles of renewal and rebirth, and our April intention celebrates her divine, life-giving magic.

Spring: Rebirth and Renewal

Though we distance ourselves at times from nature’s rhythms, as humans we share her tendencies. Our journeys feel more like spirals of climbing wisdom and circling experiences than the straight lines we often imagine. This winding labyrinth of life is a series of growths and decays, mini deaths and thriving rebirths. We come back to the same lessons over and over again, only to realize that our learning has curves and we are forever evolving.

This is the eternal flow of life and death, of beginnings, closings and re-openings. Every time we release, we bring our energy inwards, regather, integrate, and then burst out in a spring of new life and rejuvenation. Today we celebrate the spring after the winter, honoring the old as we embrace the new.

Trust that what is dying within you shall be reborn.
Know that what is hurting will heal.
Feel that what is stuck will flow.
We will be rebirthed, over and over again as we spiral up into the truest version of ourselves.

In order to be reborn, we must first die in some way - a process that can be painful, but which will always create space for fresh growth. Right now, with the energy of the new moon, our world is in a stage of inward contemplation. Now is the perfect time to look inside and consider:
  • In what area of my life am I being renewed?
  • What intentions can I set for my own rebirth as winter shifts to spring?

Blessings of love & light,

Practically Present
by Randi Schiffman

In Bali, riding freely on the back of a scooter, wind in my hair, breeze on my face and the beauty of the open road, I found myself present, connected, and one within me and everything around me. No thoughts, nothing; emptiness, or complete fullness if you will. That is until, I remembered I was supposed to be the one directing the driver, staying alert and letting him know when to turn right. So, we missed the turn. I looked down at my phone and it took me out of this precious present moment.

I call this practically present.
From Corporate to Kula
by Hana Sykorova

Call it coincidence, call it serendipity, call it fate or manifestation, this is how I ended up in the Kula Collective Yoga Teacher Training Retreat.

2015 has been a year of change for me all around.

Working in the corporate world and having been on a similar career path for the last eight years or so, I felt I was operating at about 35% of my capacity. This was in terms of utilizing all my talents including creativity, my aptitude as an athlete, or my intuition or emotional intelligence. I was getting an itch to leave the corporate world altogether and be my own boss.
