Memphis Jookin' and Galician Bagpiping: Tour with Lil Buck
This month, Cristina will team up once again with Lil Buck for a series of unique performances created by Damian Woetzel that will lead them to the stages of Chapel Hill (April 15-16), Washington DC (April 22-23) and the College of the Holy Cross (April 29-30).
Memphis Jookin’ phenomenon Lil Buck came to international attention when ballet star turned director Damian Woetzel paired the young dancer with Yo-Yo Ma. Lil Buck has gone on to perform with New York City Ballet and in Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson: One, the Spike Jonze film Her, and Madonna's MDNA Tour. Here, he collaborates again with Woetzel, joined by tabla player Sandeep Das, violinist Johnny Gandelsman, sheng player Wu Tong, and Cristina.

The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble will be released in US theaters on June 10th.
Sing Me Home, the companion album to Neville's film and the latest album from Yo-Yo Ma & the Silk Road Ensemble is now available for preorder in iTunes and Amazon, and will be released on April 22nd. It features a new arrangement of the song Cabaliño from Cristina's project Rústica with Davide Salvado, Anxo Pintos and Roberto Comesaña, that Cristina brought to the Silk Road to record this new arrangement of this beautiful traditional Galician tune.

And speaking of Rústica, Cristina’s album with Davide Salvado, Anxo Pintos and Roberto Comesaña has been selected finalist by a professional jury for the Independent Music Awards, in the category “Best Galician Album”. You can vote for it here →
The awards ceremony will take place on April 19th in the Teatro Nuevo Apolo in Madrid.

In March, Cristina returned to the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Lame Deer, Montana to carry out an educational project with SilkRoad members Lori Taylor, Shane Shanahan and Kojiro Umezaki. In May, Cristina will return to the Harvard University, as part of the Silk Road Project Residency.

Este mes, Cristina xuntarase de novo con Lil Buck para unha serie de actuacións únicas creadas por Damian Woetzel que os levarán aos escenarios de Chapel Hill (15-16 de abril), Washington DC (22-23 de abril) e ao College of the Holy Cross (29-30 de abril).
O fenómeno do Memphis Jookin’ Lil Buck saltou á fama internacional cando a estrela do ballet convertida en director Damian Woetzel xuntou o xove bailarín con Yo-Yo Ma. Dende aquela, Lil Buck ten actuado co Ballet da Cidade de Nova York e no espectáculo Michael Jackson: One do Cirque du Soleil, o filme Her de Spike Jonze, e a xira de Madonna MDNA Tour. Aquí, colabora de novo con Woetzel, acompañado polo intérprete de tabla Sandeep Das, o violinista Johnny Gandelsman, o intérprete de sheng Wu Tong, e Cristina.
