It was another great year of high school hoops. We congratulate all the teams that made it to the tournament this year. Four schools won the state title for the first time in school history: Waterford (Girls), Westerville South, John Glenn and Cornerstone Christian (Boys). Columbus Africentric took home their fifth title and the Alter Girls won a second consecutive title.

OHSAA Boys Tournament Tip-Off Reception
The OBHOF attended the OHSAA's Tip-Off Reception on Wednesday, March 16 at Ohio Stadium. Dave Gray (L) and Bill Hosket both shared memories of playing in the state tournament and its impact on their lives. Gray holds records for the following in a Division IV semi-final game: most points scored (45) most two-point field goals (16), and the most rebounds (21). Hosket reflected on his memories from the Dayton Belmont 1964 state title win, which he says of his basketball achievements, its the one of which he is most proud. "I dreamed about winning the state title since I was about 12 years old," he reflected. "The unity of the team, and what we were able to achieve are memories I'll always cherish."

Coach Marty Chambers
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of longtime Cleveland St. Ignatius Basketball Coach Marty Chambers, who died suddenly last week.

Fran Voll celebrated with bobblehead
In celebration of their 100 years of basketball, Bowling Green State University honored two of its finest on January 23. "They honored legendary coach Andy Anderson during the men's game, and me during the women's game.", said former BGSU Women's coach Fran Voll at yesterday's OBHOF Strategic Partnership Committee meeting. This particular bobble head sits proudly on OBHOF Executive Director Sheila Fox's desk. Fran is a 2010 Inductee and the immediate past president of Bowling Green State University.
