April 2016 Wheelchair Travel Newsletter
Hello, Accessible Travelers!
I have a boatload of WheelchairTravel.org updates to share with you, but I'd first like to mention a few other things going on in my travel and disability worlds. If you want to skip my jibber jabber, the top 5 posts from the last month are linked below.
I have been off the road, or out of the skies for a bit, but am about to start a busy stretch that will yield lots of new and exciting content for the website. In less than two weeks, I'll be traveling to Las Vegas for the annual Freddie Awards, which recognize the top rewards programs in the travel industry. I'll meet up with fellow travel bloggers, and hopefully come away with some new ideas for WheelchairTravel.org, and some slot machine winnings (I hope!).
After Vegas, I'm headed to New York City for the Abilities Expo, a major disability conference and exposition. If you'll be attending the free Expo, tweet me @WCTravelOrg and we'll meet up! Later this year, in September, I will be giving a travel workshop at the Abilities Expo in Boston. Put that on your calendar!
In May, I will be in Bangkok, Thailand as part of a 3 continent (possibly 4!) swing that will also take me to Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Berlin, Germany. There are some other destinations which I haven't confirmed yet, so you'll hear more in a future newsletter!
On a note unrelated to travel, I will soon be launching a new website - Crip The Vote - which will allow people with disabilities to write about and share their ideas on disability and politics. I think we all deserve to have a voice, and I hope you'll join me over at www.cripthevote.com to start a conversation and have our voices heard.
One last request before I get to the top posts of the month (and a BRAND NEW Wheelchair Accessible Travel Guide!) - My readers want to hear YOUR stories! Will you share your travel experiences with me on the blog? If you've taken a trip with your wheelchair, reply to this e-mail and tell me about it! :)
As always, I wish you all the best and thank you for following along as I travel the world and promote accessibility for everyone.
