Sunday 3 April

Perfect conditions for the last racing day of the Summer season.  The Lasers turned up in force as these last races would decide the Club Champion.  And it proved to be a cliff hanger.  The result was not know till just before the Presentation Dinner.  The result in the Lasers was a tie between Harriet and John both on 42 points.  Harriet won on a countback!

Although the places had already been settled in the other classes there was some good racing, especially in the Optis.  A special mention to Nicholas, a Jan LTS sailor,  who won the last race Opti race on handicap.

GSC /HHSC 29er Presentation - April 17

The combined GSC / HHSC 29er presentation will be held on Sunday afternoon on April 17. It is on at the Woolwich Pier Hotel starting at 4:00.  It will be a great afternoon catching up with the sailors from HHSC and comparing stories.

Just as there was a count back in the Lasers Club Championships, the GSC / HHSC championship went down to the wire too.  Dylan and John Palmer tied with Ben Fields and Sanjin Goodrigde on 42 points.  However on countback, Dylan and John won with the most 1st places.

Winter Sailing

Winter Sailing occurs on the last Sunday of each month.  Sailing is from 1:00 to 3:00, so be at the club by 12:00 to rig.  Everyone is welcome and it is a good opportunity to get in some practice before the 2016-2017 season.  The course is decided on the day and is no too competitive.  If you are planning to sail, please contact Owen (0413 201 899) or reply to this newsletter so that we have an idea of numbers and the required support.

The dates for the Winter Sailing are:
  • April 24
  • May 29
  • June 26
  • July 31
In the past there has also been an ANZAC Day sail, but as the last Sunday of April is the day before ANZAC day, it is combined.
