Famous4.15 Kids Rule! *Summer Term'16

Goodbye, hello and congrats!

Well, the snow has melted and the clocks have changed - goodbye winter blues, hello summer breeze! OK, we’re optimists but it’s undeniably spring, so at the very least you can fling off your cardies and get a skip in your step! And if you’re skipping anyway, why not leap along to Famous?!

Only a few short weeks have passed since the big red Famous doors opened for the spring term but our 4.15ers aren’t ones to hang about and they’ve certainly been busy. From the newbies who hurtled into our studios for the very first time to the old hands who welcomed them, everyone’s rocked up and stepped up!

And though they were pretty awesome to start, they’ve even sharpened up since then too. How do we know?

Well, firstly, 

the Trinity examiners told us. Yep, once again they were BLOWN AWAY by the talent and dedication of the 4.15 crew. 100% pass rate? Yup. Just any old pass? No way! It was merits and distinctions all the way. Yeehaaaa! Fist bumps, high fives and heel clicks all round.

We’re super-proud of our exam crew but here at Famous we think achievement comes in a load of guises, and it just so happens to be the time of year where we shout that from the rooftops.

Yep, move over MOBOs: the red carpet is out, the camera crews** are ready and The 415s are in town. The spring term awards will take place very soon so dust off your gladrags and start thinking about who to thank (“me mam, me hairdresser, the bus driver who makes sure I get to class on time….”). Be there or be at home watching on telly. OK, it’s not on telly, so you probably should just be there.

Whilst we're waiting, a BIG #FamousHigh5 to our winter term winners: Emely, Leo, Ella, Isobel, Hannah, Madeleine, Madison and Aalliyah! You rock!

And when the excitement of the 415 awards simmers down, don’t fret, because we’ve got even more good times just around the corner.

Summer term'16 runs from 9th & 12th April - 16th & 19th July (half term break 28th & 31st May) and it’s gonna be a goodie!

It’s a show term so (I’m sure we don’t need to remind you) it’s a little bit special. It also needs a little bit of extra energy and commitment, but we know you’ve all got that in you.

Showtime is 9th July so stick it in your diaries now! With everyone taking part in two shows, it’s gonna be a day to remember. There’s no brilliance without practise so do make sure you scribble down the rehearsal dates: 1st May 10-1pm, 12th June 10-1pm and July 3rd 10-2pm.  *applicable to all classes except Saturday C1

Who's Ballin'!?

 
Carrying on the tradition of hosting the best local and not-so-local dance companies, we've got some more fantastic one-off workshops led by some major pros, coming right up.

After the huge success of last year's Momentum performance, we've decided to jump on board again this spring. The Momentum collaboration offers the incredible opportunity to dance the Big Rugby weekend at St. James' Park. Signed up? Awesome. Game on.

08th May 10-2pm
15th May 10-2pm 
19th May 5pm approx (time & location TBC)

Showtime
22nd May 5.15pm - meeting at 2pm for briefing and final rehearsal at Leazes Park. You will be free after a short Leases rehearsal until the stadium meet at 4:45pm (meeting point TBC)

15:15 St Helens RL v Huddersfield Giants
17:30 Hull FC v Hull KRI

It's back to basics. A class, stripped down and dedicated to all of that super important stuff (that we sometimes forget when we're blasting through fancy choreo).

Covering basic technique from ballet, contemporary and jazz; as well as your neat feet, your dance lingo will be up to speed too!

Summer Term 7 Week Block: 13th April - 25th May £42. Age 8+.
