One of Long Island's favorite traditions, the Hofstra University Dutch Festival, will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016. In time for its 33rd year, the Hofstra Dutch Family Festival is going through a reinvention with more emphasis on family activities and community services. As always, enjoy the annual tulip display, music and theater performances, art exhibits and demonstrations, and carnival games.
The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Enjoy live jazz music while strolling through our beautiful campus boasting of tulips in bloom and Hofstra's Dutch heritage. Plenty of "shopportunities" before Mother's Day!

Need Summer Housing?
You can reside on campus in our summer residence Alliance Hall! Submit your housing application utilizing the online system via the student portal account. There is no deposit requirement. For more detailed information about move-in and move out dates and other information regarding residing on campus this summer, please visit www.hofstra.edu/summerhousingapp.
To submit your summer application online please follow the steps below:
Simply log in to the Hofstra portal at My.Hofstra.edu.
Click on the “Navigation Menu” in the top left hand corner.
Click on the “Student Services” menu.
Click on the “Residence Life” menu.
Click on the “ Residence Life Room Application”.
Select the term for which you are applying (e.g., 201606 for session I, 201607 for session II, and 201608 for session III).
Follow instructions to complete the housing application.

Social Host Law LOCAL LAW NO. 13 -2007
A LOCAL LAW in relation to preventing the consumption of alcohol by minors at private homes.
"§4. Unlawful consumption of alcohol by minor at a residence.
a. It shall be unlawful for any person over the age of eighteen who owns, rents, or otherwise controls a private residence, to knowingly allow the consumption of alcohol or alcoholic beverages by any minor on such premises or to fail to take reasonable corrective action upon learning of the consumption of alcohol or alcoholic beverages by any minor on such premises. Reasonable corrective action shall include, but not be limited to: 1) making a prompt demand that such minor either forfeit and refrain from further consumption of the alcoholic beverages or depart from the premises; and 2) if such minor does not comply with such request, either promptly reporting such underage consumption of alcohol i) to the local law enforcement agency or ii) to any other person having a greater degree of authority over the conduct of such minor."
