Happy Earth Day!
A single person switching to transit can cut annual carbon
emissions by more than  4,800 pounds.
Riding public transit reduces the emission of 156 million pounds of nitrogen oxides, which
can cause respiratory disease.
Public transit vehicles emit fewer pollutants than single-passenger automobiles.
Buses, for example emit
80% less carbon monoxide than a car. Rail emits almost none.

Alltranist - Transit Matrix

AllTransit - A represents the largest source of transit connectivity, access, and frequency data in America. It offers tremendous potential for planning applications to increase our understanding of the value of transit, as well as to enhance service and operations planning.

Alltransit has a great tool to look at your communities transit "performance score" which measure trips per week, routes in your community, jobs accessible to transit and the percent of your community that rides transit.
