April 22, 2016: Speaking Words of Life

Dear <<First Name>>,

The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life. Proverbs 10:11

Our words have an incredible impact on our lives and the lives of the people we interact with. It only takes one word to hurt, and a few words to heal. Everyone you meet today "NEEDS" an encouraging word from you. There are no exceptions. Most people are walking around with negative self-talk going on in their minds, and we can help remind them that they are loved, that they matter to you and to Abba, and that we are brothers and sisters in Christ.

We all know how we feel when someone shares loving and encouraging words. We light up and our spirit is warmed. It also goes the other way. When we are successful in giving others a loving or encouraging word, we also light up and our spirit is warmed. The wonderful thing is that it costs us nothing but a pause in our step to think about how valuable we are to each other.

I love the analogy the writer uses, "a fountain of life." Wouldn't it be wonderful if the only thing that flowed from the fountain of our heart to our mouth and beyond were the very words that Jesus is always speaking to us? We have that ability. As we spend our holy moments with Jesus, let Him share His love to you and through you. It is the pause of reflection that reminds us how beautiful and valuable we are to each other.

Say something loving and encouraging today to those closest to you. Practice with a co-worker, a neighbor, your children and your spouse if you have them. Never underestimate the power your words can have to bring life to others.
