  It must be the Summer Term!

Inevitably with the beginning of the cricket season we seem to get badly timed rain showers and at the moment freezing temperatures!

However the boys haven’t let that stop them making the most of the cricket nets this week.

The U11’s season starts in earnest next week with 3 games, I wish them luck in all the competitions that they take part in this season.

The Summer Term is always a lovely one. The boys get outside more often and the fine weather makes everyone happy. We have three new boys joining us this term and they have settled in beautifully to our already established routines.

Year 2 Forest School Adventures
 
Year 2 had their last Forest School session this week and enjoyed the most beautiful weather. The bluebells are in full bloom and the birds have returned! This term's topic is Australasia and Year 2 have been studying the Aborigines.

Elmhurst Teams take part in Restless Triathlon
 
On Sunday 17th April five teams from Elmhurst took part in the Restless Triathlon which was held at Royal Russell School.  The triathlon helps to raise money to support and train young people all over the world in less fortunuate situations

Year 1 learn about Wandgina Rock Art
 
In art, Year 1 have been exploring Aboriginal rock art and recreating the Wandgina petroglyphs found in Kimberley in Australia. They used oil pastels and   vegetable dye to recreate these ancient art works.

Year 5 and Year 6 Boys Learn about World War 1
 
To mark the centenary of WW1, Year 6 and Year 5 are undertaking a special project to develop their understanding of this important period in History.Mrs Parker-Brown, who has created a fantastic WW1 exhibition at Whitgift School, visited Elmhurst to give boys a greater insight into what life was like for the soldiers on the front line.

Year 6 Boys participate in ISSP Project
 
Year 6 Boys are participating in ISSP Project as a part of their development in ICT Skills. The project is to develop mental maths skills through creative activities by older children developing Apps for the younger children to use.
