Photographed a lifestyle series for Coca Cola with BRC Imagination Arts. I loved working with "real people" casting, the talent really brought it and felt completely authentic. It was a fun 3 day adventure shot all over LA, Malibu, Venice, DTLA, The Valley, and on and on!
Here we have the lovely ladies of Lucius! What a pleasure it was to work with these incredible artists, and they are artists in every sense of the word. We did so many amazing looks and outfits of their imaginations. Even though the day we shot, the studio I rented was gigantic and unheated, it happened to be the rare day in LA that was 45 degrees! Thankfully they are very pro and we shivered on through the looks.
My old friend Johnny Marr hit me up to do some photos for him when he was coming to LA to play a gig at The El Rey. I first met Johnny when I ran the BritPop club Cafe Bleu in Hollywood in about 1998. So grateful I've been able to photograph this legend over the past several years. Not only did he create the signature guitar sounds of The Smiths, he's still cranking out hits on his own that keep the rooms singing along.
I wanted to pay homage to another legend I was so fortunate to shoot 2 albums for and a music video, Merle Haggard who passed away on April 6th, his 79th Birthday. Quite a bookend. It was amazing to have been able to drink Tequiza and spend time with him and his family at their ranch in Reading, Ca. These photos were taken at his home.
