Friday, April 29, 7:00–8:00pm with Melissa Fountain
This hour long class will present the goal and promise of Yogic meditation: to know your own Self. Meditation offers many benefits: stress reduction, improved health, and the quieting of your busy mind. You will learn the basic tools and techniques of how to meditate, and how to take that practice into your daily life.
Melissa Fountain, CSYT 700 hrs, is a long time meditation and yoga practitioner. She is a Leading Svaroopa® Yoga and Meditation teacher in the Metrowest Boston area, and is dedicated to helping others experience first hand, benefits of these ancient teachings.
This is a gentle and therapeutic yoga class that focuses on neck, shoulders, hips and spine. We will flow mindfully through a systematic yoga sequence that can help you align your spine, decompress it and strengthen it safely and effectively. This class will help you release muscle tension and relieve back, neck, shoulder and generalized aches and pains with emphasis on stretching and flexibility in harmony with your breath. We will do Yoga asanas on the mat with use of bolsters and cushions. Class ends with a short meditation that leaves you feeling calm, centered and in the present moment.
Saturday, April 30, 10:30am–12:30pm with Pat Lebau
Relieve headaches, neck and shoulder pain, low back pain or knee pain
Integrated positional therapy in a yoga class context creates awareness of tender and trigger points to release them. Counter-intuitively, bringing muscles into slack is enormously therapeutic. The side you stretch in a yoga pose is the side you are usually aware of. In positional therapy, you learn to be aware of the side getting UNstretched! It's a huge AHA and shift - a truly astonishing realization - that you can slacken soreness into release. This workshop is suitable for yogis of all levels and will be gentle and soothing. Come release into bliss with Pat Lebau, Kripalu 500 E-RYT and positional therapy level 1 yoga teacher.
Discover Creativity, Mindfulness & the Art of Zen through a workshop designed to connect within, create, and innovate. This beginner workshop helps one create a personal zen painting by exploring colors and textures as a meditative process. This process allows one to create without limits and tune in to oneself for inspiration. Limited spots, so register early.
The workshop will be conducted by Navneet Magon Anand, founder of Design Veritas. Visit www.designveritas.com for more information about her studio.
