Integrated Care Interests
I am a practicing clinical psychologist, clinical researcher, and biomedical informaticist, meaning I do lots of research with electronic health data, particularly in primary care settings with disparate electronic health record systems to help us achieve a learning healthcare system.

I lead Data QUEST, a data network in our WWAMI region across our practice-based research network, the WPRN, and we conduct many research projects to improve primary care. I’ve also disseminated evidence-based behavioral treatments to integrated care teams in community health clinics, including training hundreds of behavioral health specialists and primary care providers.

I’m especially interested in developing tools that leverage data science methods like data visualization and deep learning methods to better mine data to improve health in primary care.

Highlighted Project
I lead a planning project for the Department of Labor and Industries to develop a new integrated care program for injured workers in Washington State targeting pain and behavioral health in primary care.

Favorite Northwest Treasure
I hail from West Seattle and Alki is at the north tip – a visit can feel like a mini vacation at the beach (rain or shine) – if you haven’t been, check it out!
