Abortion-related research - where are we at and where are the gaps?
The seminar focuses on current and recent abortion-related research at the LSHTM and Karolinska Institutet (Swe). Six researchers and PhD-students are presenting their work from Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe, followed by a discussion session on knowledge gaps and future research needs, facilitated by Veronique Filippi.

Reaching at-risk youth in Ukraine: three case studies
To coincide with the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine & WHO Short Course on Adolescent Health in Low and Middle-Income Countries taking place between 13th-24th June - we have organised the following series of seminars on Adolescent Health. Olena Sakovych of UNICEF, Ukraine will be speaking.

Born in Gaza Documentary Screening
The Global Health Film initiative invites you to a screening of Born in Gaza– an acclaimed documentary about the devastating effects of wartime on child and adolescent mental health.
 
Leaving aside political debates, this hard-hitting tale examines how injury, fear and the loss of loved ones has transformed the lives of ten children during the 2014 siege of Gaza, which left 507 children dead and 3,598 wounded.


When: July 1st, 2016 at 6:00pm

Cost: £5 for RSM Members, £10 for Non-members



2016 Global Women’s (GLOW) Research Society Conference
Would you be interested in attending a conference about Innovations to Accelerate Saving Lives at Birth? The Global Women’s (GLOW) Research Society Conference will be holding it’s annual conference on this theme in Manchester this year.
 
Their three confirmed keynote speakers will be Prof Anthony Costello (Director, WHO Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health), Prof Address Malata (Vice President, International Confederation of Midwives) and Prof Peter von Dadelszen (Academic Head of O&G, St George’s, University of London).  


Abstract submission is open until July 10th, 2016.
