Le 18 juin, le Centre Phi accueille

Le 18 juin, Camella Lobo, mieux connue sous le nom de son projet solo Tropic of Cancer, sera de passage au Centre Phi pour y présenter les titres de sa dernière parution.

Artiste d’une intelligence intuitive exceptionnelle et d’une sensibilité rare, Camella Lobo accompagne sa voix de quelques synthés pour offrir des airs ambiants qui révèlent des émotions brutes. Sa dernière parution Stop Suffering, qu’elle a produite et enregistrée elle-même à Los Angeles, est habitée d’une douleur vive qui plane sur les trois pièces et qui laisse l’auditeur dans un maelström émotionnel profond. Bref, Tropic of Cancer invite à une cold wave sombre, purement féminine, où ses claviers évanescents épousent une voix quasi hypnotique.

La première partie du spectacle sera annoncée sous peu.

Au cœur de la programmation du Centre Phi se côtoieront différents artistes électroniques aux sous-genres des plus variés: du jazz au post-rock, en passant par la cold wave et l’électro ambiant. Mentionnons les concerts du producteur et DJ Sam Shepherd alias Floating Points, le 11 mai en collaboration avec MUTEK, et de Rival Consoles, présenté le 21 mai en collaboration avec MUTEK et Chromatic.

Le Centre Phi

On June 18, Camella Lobo, better known under the name of her solo project Tropic of Cancer, will take the stage at the Phi Centre to present her latest songs.

An artist with exceptional intuition and a rare sensibility, Camella Lobo adds synth flourishes to her lyrical style, creating ambient melodies that tap into a raw emotional state. Her latest release, Stop Suffering, which she produced and recorded herself in Los Angeles, is infused with a sharp pain that wafts over the three pieces of music and leaves the listener in a profound emotional maelstrom. In short, the evening is sure to leave the listener lost in a maelstrom of a purely feminine cold wave, where evanescent keyboards fuse with an almost hypnotic voice.

In the upcoming weeks, the Phi Centre programming will be featuring a bevvy of eclectic electro artists that specialize in everything from jazz to post-rock to cold wave to ambient electro.
