More good news for the Mathematics department:
Jamie Fraser, Grade 9, has been selected to be part of the Grade 10 team to represent South Africa at the International Mathematics Competition in Thailand in August this year. The teams began their preparation this past week and she will be attending weekly training at Elkanah House.
We wish Hannah Clayton (Grade 12), who has been selected to represent South Africa at the Pan African Mathematics Olympiad, all the best as she competes in Senegal next week.

Piano Festival
The 7th Piano Festival will take place at Charlie’s Hope on Monday 25 April 19:30. Participating schools are: Bishops, Herschel, Rondebosch, Rustenburg and Westerford whose learners will be performing a work each by one of the anniversary composers.
Guest speaker, José Diaz, will give an illustrated talk on the quirky French composer, Erik Satie, whose 150th anniversary of his birth is being celebrated throughout the world this year.
Besides the various CD prizes, this will be the first time that the Judith Dernier Piano Prize of R1 000 is offered. The Prize was established through donations on the occasion of Judith Dernier’s retirement from full-time teaching at Rustenburg in 2015. REBECCA TERRY and JIYOON JEON are the RGHS participants.
