Summer AmeriCorps and VISTA Opportunities for College Students and Recent Graduates.

 
MTCC campuses and their nonprofit partners are currently recruiting for over fifty summer and full-time year AmeriCorps positions across the state.  These positions run the gamut of Work Study funded and grant-funded, all come with an Education Award!  More information  can be found here.
 

MTCC's Network Office Moves!

 
Our Network Office has re-located to the Davidson Honors College. Our physical address is 32 Campus Drive, DHC 020, Missoula, MT 59812 and our  main line telephone number of (406) 243-5177 still works and staff contact information remains as it was. Stop in for a visit next time you're in Missoula!

In addition, our website recently saw the following updates and new functionality: 
  • A brand new front page Service Opportunities link, which contains all of the MTCC network's up to the minute National Service opportunities. 
  • AmeriCorps Leader and VISTA member functionality on the Staff and National Service Member page.
  • Updated Campus Compact logo on homepage and several more small updates and fixes.

The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

 
The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll annually highlights the role colleges and universities play in solving community problems and places more students on a lifelong path of civic engagement.  The deadline for this national application is: June 15, 2016.  For more information - go here.


 

MTCC AmeriCorps VISTA and AmeriCorps State Member Spotlight!

 
Former AmeriCorps VISTA -Annie Mombourquette.  Annie served in Browning, Montana with the Browning Public Schools and Blackfeet Community College. Annie's service focused on Food Service Nutrition Education and the School/Community Garden Program. She is continuing her service as a FoodCorps Montana member with the same host site.  To read more about her amazing service- go here.


Current AmeriCorps Leader Megan Brown.  Megan serves with Montana State University Northern in Havre, MT. Just recently the Havre Daily News highlighted the AmeriCorps team who worked with Havre's Mayor on a community beautification project.  To read more about this project -go here.

Ten Montana Students Honored as Newman Civic Fellows

 
Campus Compact has announced 218 students chosen from institutions across the country to receive the 2016 Newman Civic Fellows Award, including ten students from Montana.  More information can be found here. For more information go here.

Rocky Mountain College Honors Graduating Veterans.


MTCC Advisory Committee member and Rocky Mountain College's Community Service Coordinator Jill Washburn led and event that honored the campuses graduating veterans at a banquet on April 21, 2016.  For more information go here.

SAVE THE  DATE  FOR MTCC's FIRST NETWORK MEETING.

When, June 8th and 9th, hosted by Helena College, Montana Campus Compact's Advisory Committee. The committee will convene for two (2) days of fun, check-in with plans, work and much more.  This event will  convene the diverse stakeholders to shape the priorities of the organization.  

EHRLICH FACULTY AWARD DEADLINE APPROACHES

The Thomas Ehrlich Civically Engaged Faculty Award recognizes one senior faculty member (post-tenure or middle to-late-career at institutions without tenure) each year.  Honorees (who must be affiliated with a Campus Compact member institution) are recognized for exemplary engaged scholarship, including leadership in advancing students' civic learning, conducting community-based research, fostering reciprocal community partnerships, building institutional commitments to service-learning and civic engagement, and other means of enhancing higher education contributions to the public good.  Complete nominations for 2016 award must be received no later than May 16, 2016.  For more information go here.
