APNET Career Corner

In today’s world, changes in communications and technology have had a significant impact on work life  and we have to rise up to the challenge. Taking advantage of opportunities to broaden one’s knowledge is key to a successful career.

There are several  factors to consider when selecting a career.

  1. List your objectives
  2. How do you achieve your objectives
  3. Know yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, skills, talents and interests
  4. Figure out what makes you unique and different from the competition
  5. What is really important to your values
  6. Making informed decisions
  7. Get a better understanding of the world of work

We live in an increasingly complex society with more choices. The question is how do you know which career field you are most adept to excel in? One needs to understand the key characteristics of a career. Each field has it’s own unique set of education, experience, skills and personality characteristic requirements. It is important for one to be strategic and proactive.
