Dear SLED Supporter,

Recently I shared with you the story of Tim Perez, a student at the San Leandro High School Academy of Business and Finance who applied to thirteen colleges and was rejected from all thirteen schools. Tim’s story had a happy ending because he had caring adults in his corner—adults who spotted the error in his transcript and helped him appeal his rejections. Tim is now at Temple University and is representing American youth entrepreneurship at the Global Entrepreneur Summit in Monaco this summer!

There are many kids, just like Tim, who are looking for adults to help them hone their skills and guide them on their chosen pathway. Can YOU be one of those adults?

Adult volunteers are needed to help judge Sophomore Business Plans and Senior Digital Portfolios. It just takes a few hours and there are multiple days and times to choose from, beginning April 29th through May 27th.

You need not have an MBA or be on the cover of Forbe’s Magazine. What you do need is an ability to help students identify contradictions or gaps in their plans, better articulate their vision and challenge them to think about things from a different perspective.

You can register to help by filling out the form here. If you are unable to help, perhaps someone else in your workplace would, so please feel free to share this opportunity!

Thank you for caring!

Morgan Mack-Rose
Executive Director
