Spring Has Sprung!
Along with new and continuing
religious education programming
With the days growing longer—and the sun coming up earlier—we hope you’ll join us for the first hour of church each Sunday morning. From 9:30 until 10:30, folks are gathering for in-depth discussions, spiritual connection and, yes, even to get their hands dirty.
Circle of Trees is an intergenerational program that takes place at the Day Spring Gardens. Children and adults are invited to get their hands (and knees) dirty for an hour that celebrates nature and our connection to it. Meet at the church at 9:00 a.m. if you need a ride to the gardens. Or meet us at Day Spring at 9:30 a.m. in time for the opening ritual. For more information (and directions on how to get to Day Spring), contact Pete Fontneau (703-400-3429, interimdre@firstunitarian.net) or Karla Peterson (443-739-1542, 21218@firstunitarian.net). P.S. You don’t need to be a parent to attend!
The Gospel Survey continues! We erroneously announced that this special workshop offered by Doreion Coulter was cancelled. But it lives on! Meet with Doreion in the Volunteer Office at 9:30 a.m. for a discussion about where the Christian Gospels came from and how they fit into modern (UU) life.
Thanks to the tremendous response by participants, we’ve decided to extend our discussions of anti-racism each Sunday morning. The New Jim Crow discussion group will meet through June, with rotating facilitators. Drop in or make a point to attend each meeting in the Enoch Pratt Parish Hall at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.
Rev. Olson’s Soul to Soul discussion meets in the Youth Room each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. Join him and others for rich conversations about deep topics, including addiction, prayer, resilience and other spiritual experiences.
We cannot wait to see you at one or more of these religious education offerings!
