We’re thrilled to announce Kitsap Animal Rescue & Education (KARE) will participate in this year's Kitsap Great Give, a national day of local giving that will be held here in Silverdale on May 3, 2016. A partnership between Kitsap Community Foundation and local nonprofits, donors from every neighborhood in our community will come together to raise significant funds for local needs—all on a single day. Every gift given to local nonprofits will be increased by a national pool of matching funds. We’re partnering with area nonprofits, businesses and community members to raise funds for local needs.

How will the Kitsap Great Give funding help our organization?

The Kitsap Great Give funding will allow KARE to extend our community outreach and free workshops, rescue more pets from high kill areas, and aid in procuring and developing a training facility.

Here are three simple ways you can help:

  • Pledge to Give
  • Spread the word, Use #KitsapGreatGive
  • Make a gift on May 3
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!

Let's Do It Again... and Have Some Fun!

Last year we raised $19,454.68.

KARE led the Small Nonprofit Organizations with the most funds raised for a total of $18,031, which didn’t include additional funds from the local and possibly national matching pool of funds! These funds gave us a big start towards having our own rehabilitation facility.

The Kitsap Great Give makes it fun to give with additional event challenges and prizes! In addition to the proportional bonus funds that will be added to every donation made during May 3, 2016, prizes will be offered throughout the day of the event. Although there is a full list of challenges, with your help, we think we can win these particular prizes:

Early Bird Prize - $1,000

(Sponsored by Kitsap Community Foundation Board of Directors). For the nonprofit that raises the most money by 9:00 a.m.

Most Donors Prize for Small Nonprofits

1st place $1,000, 2nd place $500, 3rd place $250.
The nonprofit with an annual budget under $100,000 that has the most individual donors by the end of the day wins $1,000.

  • Second prize is $500.
  • Third is $250.

Clearwater Prize - $2,000, $500, $250

These prizes go to the nonprofit that receives the most donations between 6 and 8 pm. But the nonprofit must be present at the Clearwater Party to qualify. RSVP TO ATTEND HERE!

  • First Prize - $2,000
  • Second Prize is $500
  • Third Prize is $250

We Can Do One Better

This year, KARE has found a donor who has challenged us to do better than last year. If we beat our record of $18,031, they will match every dollar over the $18K. For example, if we raise $20K this year, they will match an additional $2000! So... can we do it?
