Traffic at Miramar Park

Every Saturday Miramar Park heaves with traffic as people locate the ground they are playing on and look for parking. Every three weeks numbers swell with 7th and 8th Grade Festival Days. At these times please be extra viligent and watch out for young children. They are unpredictable and hard to spot. Better still avoid entering the park if you can. Check the side streets and locate the alley ways that provide alternative entry to the park.

When to wear club gear

Sorry kids! The gear provided by the Club is only to be worn when REPRESENTING MIRAMAR RANGERS. This means shirts and jackets can be worn to competitive weekend games and tournaments only... not to school or training or even the holiday programme.

Please help us to manage this. If your kids want to show their Black & Blue, other Miramar Rangers items - including hoodies, beanies and training shirts - can be purchased through the Club Shop in-store or online at Football Central.

Old boots kicking round?

"I’m off to Thailand in a few weeks to take part in an International Masters tournament in Chiang Mai. David Batty and Graham Little, who also have strong ties to Miramar Juniors, are coming on this trip too. When the team is in Chiang Mai we will be holding a coaching session for local children. Not all of these children have decent football kit - or any at all - so I’d love to help out.

To make this possible I’m asking you to donate any boots that your child has grown out of, no longer likes or aren't this season's cool colour combo... I’m more than happy to do the running around to pick up, or you are welcome to drop at our place at 11 Brussels Street, Miramar.

If you are able to help out, please get in contact with me on 021 227 8063 to make arrangements.

Thanking you in anticipation."

- ANDY TAYLOR

Game Day cancellations and transfers

If it's raining games may be cancelled or transferred. The Club can cancel First Kicks due to bad weather. All other age grades and Girls Only Sunday Football cancellations are determined by the Wellington City Council. If the WCC decides to close the grounds, no one can play. If they decide not the close the grounds, games are usually on. And remember, just because some grounds are closed it doesn't necessarily mean all of them are - so you need to check!

First Kicks
First Kicks at Dave Farrington Park is cancelled at the discretion of the Club and parents will be notified at the earliest opportunity by email and a note will be posted on Facebook and the website.

7th and 8th Grade Fun Football
Fun Football is usually on unless the WCC closes the grounds. In this instance, Grade Managers will notify parents by email and a note will be posted on Facebook and the website.

All other Age Grades + Girls Only Sunday League
Football is usually on unless the WCC closes the grounds. The best place to find out if games are cancelled or transferred is via Capital Football's Fixtures page. Navigate to your fixture and it will clearly show if it's been altered. Usually Capital Football will try and finalise cancellations and transfers by Friday afternoon - but it's always a good idea to check again on Saturday morning in case things have changed overnight.

Some things to remember...
  • The WCC owns the grounds and makes the decision to close them - not Capital Football, not the Club, not your Grade Manager and not your coach.
  • Just because some grades are cancelled, it doesn't mean all of them are.
  • If you can't find a cancellation on Capital Football's Fixtures page, on MRFC's Facebook page, on the MRFC website or in your email inbox - you are ON!
  • If you arrive at a game and the conditions make playing dangerous, both coaches can agree to cancel on the spot.

Code of Conduct

As an affiliated club, all of our members are subject to the terms of the NZ Football Code of Conduct, which provides some pretty common-sense guidelines for the behaviour of participants. If you do have any issues, complaints or concerns you can discuss them with:
  • Your grade manager
  • Andrew Wilson (Junior Club Chairman - mrfcjuniors@xtra.co.nz)
  • Rosie Telford (Club Administrator - mrfc@paradise.net.nz)
They are here to help. Remember, we're here for our kids and we're here to give them a great introduction to playing sport and an enduring love of the beautiful game. Peace.
