Jetzt abstimmen für Publikumspreis des European Heritage Awards
Die Europäische Kommission und Europa Nostra haben am 7. April 2016 die Gewinner des EU Preises für das Kulturerbe / Europa Nostra Awards 2016 bekannt gegeben, Europas höchste Auszeichnung für das Kulturerbe. Das Projekt TANZFONDS ERBE erhält als einer von 28 Preisträgern aus 16 Ländern – und als einziger deutscher Gewinner – den EU Preis in der Kategorie Bildung, Ausbildung und Bewusstseinsbildung für seine Leistungen zum Erhalt und zur Vermittlung des Kulturerbes Tanz.
Noch bis zum 8. Mai 2016 haben Bürger weltweit die Möglichkeit online für den Publikumspreis abzustimmen und eine Reise für 2 nach Madrid zur Preisverleihung am 24. Mai 2016 zu gewinnen.

2011 lancierte die gemeinnützige Kulturorganisation DIEHL+RITTER das Projekt TANZFONDS ERBE mit der Webseite www.tanzfonds.de, das als Förderinitiative der Kulturstiftung des Bundes künstlerische Projekte zum Kulturerbe des Tanzes ermöglicht. Die Projekte generieren mit ihren Dokumentationen ein Online-Archiv, mit dem die Geschichte des Tanzes für zukünftige Generationen sichtbar wird.
Die geförderten Künstler sind dazu aufgefordert, fundiert zu recherchieren und eng mit Experten für Choreografie, Tanzgeschichte und -wissenschaft zusammenzuarbeiten. Die künstlerischen Ergebnisse dieser Prozesse werden auf einer anschaulich gestalteten Webseite veröffentlicht. Videodokumentationen der Proben, Interviews und Aufführungen sowie Fotos, Zeichnungen und Essays über Tanz bieten der Öffentlichkeit freien Zugang zur Tanzgeschichte des 20.Jahrhunderts.

Durch die Zusammenarbeit der Projekte mit nationalen und internationalen Archiven wurden wertvolle Artefakte wiederentdeckt und in den Diskurs zum Tanzerbe eingebracht. Auf der Grundlage dieser Materialien konnten historische Tanzwerke rekonstruiert werden, und das mit größtmöglicher Genauigkeit und Respekt gegenüber dem Original und mit Blick auf einen zeitgenössischen Kontext. Diese Vorgehensweise ist ein für den Erhalt des immateriellen Erbes überaus wichtiger Aspekt des Projekts, denn dadurch entstehen wertvolle Erfahrungen im Umgang mit einer Kunstform, die so vergänglich ist. Die Jury des Europa Nostra Awards honoriert „die Bedeutung dieser informativen Plattform für diese spezifische Form des Kulturerbes, das in seiner Flüchtigkeit für eine breitere Öffentlichkeit genauso wie für Tanzexperten zugänglich gemacht wird. Die erfolgreiche Verbreitung deises wunderbaren Erbes durch den Tanzfonds Erbe wird als gelungenes Beispiel ganz sicherlich einen positiven Einfluss auf andere Initiativen in ganz Europa haben."
Der EU Preis für das Kulturerbe / Europa Nostra Awards wurde 2002 von der EU-Kommission ins Leben gerufen und wird seitdem von Europa Nostra veranstaltet. Der Preis fördert und feiert beispielhafte Projekte in den Bereichen Denkmalpflege, Forschung, Management, Ehrenamt, Bildung und Kommunikation. Dadurch schafft er ein größeres Bewusstsein dafür, dass Kulturelles Erbe auch als strategische Ressource für Europas Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft genutzt werden kann. Der Preis wird vom Kreatives Europa Programm der Europäischen Union gefördert.

Vote now for Public Choice Award of European Heritage Award
The European Commission and Europa Nostra revealed on 7 April 2016 the winners of the 2016 European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards, Europe’s highest honour in the heritage field. The project TANZFONDS ERBE is one of 28 laureates from 16 countries – and the only German one – to win the EU Prize. It is given to TANZFONDS ERBE in the category Education, Training and Awareness-Raising for preserving and promoting dance heritage.
Until 8 May 2016 citizens from around the world can vote online for the Public Choice Award and win a trip for 2 to Madrid to participate at the European Heritage Awards Ceremony on 24 May 2016.

In 2011, the nonprofit organisation DIEHL+RITTER launched a website (tanzfonds.de) to facilitate access to funds from the German Federal Cultural Foundation for artistic projects dedicated to the cultural heritage of dance. These projects aim to document, archive and therefore preserve the history of dance for future generations.
The selected artists are encouraged to fully research their projects and work closely with experts in the fields of history, dance science and choreography. The results allow the general public to openly access the history of 20th century and contemporary dance through a well-designed website, which includes videos of rehearsals, interviews and performances as well photographs, artworks and articles relating to dance.

By encouraging the projects to work within national and international archives, valuable artefacts have been uncovered and brought back into the dialogue surrounding dance heritage. The rediscovery of material has also led to the reconstruction of historical dance pieces, which have been reproduced as closely to the original as possible and have been reconsidered in a contemporary context. For the preservation of intangible heritage, this is an extremely important aspect of the project as it ensures the practice of something which can so easily be lost. The Europe Nostra Awards jury acknowledges “the importance of this supportive platform for this specific type of cultural heritage which intends to capture its ephemeral nature and make it available for the wider public as well as specialists of dance. The Dance Heritage Fund's success in raising awareness of this beautiful heritage is sure to have a positive influence on other projects throughout Europe by power of example."
The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards was launched by the European Commission in 2002 and has been run by Europa Nostra since then. It celebrates and promotes best practices related to heritage conservation, research, management, voluntarism, education and communication. In this way, it contributes to a stronger public recognition of cultural heritage as a strategic resource for Europe’s economy and society. The Prize is supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
