InForm

Hi <<First Name>>,

Welcome to the April edition of InForm.

As 2016 fires along at PAA, we continue our policy of strong industry engagement as we grow and strengthen our national networks. We are pushing the community health agenda, encouraging our registrants and friends to get involved with our Move More Sit Less campaign. Jump online and see what it’s all about. Download our tip sheets and posters.  The Mayo Clinic analysed that for each hour we sit – we are losing 6% of good benefit from one hour of vigorous activity and 16% per hour for moderate to vigorous activity.  This statistic is frightening – especially for our clients who may do a lot of good work at training and then spend most of their day sitting in their workplace.  Ask your clients to try our sitting calculator and then perhaps work together on ideas about how they can work a bit more each day.

A key focus  for us is connecting regularly with our registrants and industry. We’re looking forward to meeting many of you at FILEX, the Fitness Industry Convention, in Melbourne on 29th April- 1st  May. Come along and look out for us - we'll be the ones in the bright orange shirts near ‘The Arena’.  We will have some prizes and giveaways, but more importantly, we would love to talk with you about what you are doing and how we can support you.

International Pilates Day - May 7

As part of the Bluearth Foundation, we have formed a partnership with Pilates International Training Centre. Saturday May 7 is World Pilates Day, and to celebrate, PilatesITC are holding free community workshops at their Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane studios, from 12pm - 1.30pm. Entry is free, but a donation is requested. All donations go to the Bluearth Foundation's programs to get Australians moving more and sitting less.

Get snappy!

PAA is now on Instagram! We would love to see your #realpeople_realfitness photos. You don't need to be doing yoga on a mountain top (although we'd love to see the photos if that's your thing), you just need to be doing whatever exercise you do that makes you feel good. Just tag your pics to #realpeople_realfitness and use the @physicalactivityaus handle. We're looking forward to seeing all your real fitness photos.
