East Cooper Community Outreach Announces 4th Annual Golf Ball
Two-day Fundraiser Aims to Raise $200,000 to Support Low-income Families

Charleston, S.C. (April 19, 2016): East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) announces the 4th Annual Golf Ball, a two-day fundraiser to benefit local families living below the poverty line.

The 2016 Golf Tournament, sponsored by Nucor Steel Berkeley, will take place on Monday, May 9, on Daniel Island’s nationally-ranked private courses, a unique pairing of Tom Fazio and Rees Jones championship designs. Golfers will have the chance to win the lease on a new Lexus and other prizes for winning closest to the pin and longest drive competitions. Special guest, Sean “The Beast” Fister, three-time World Long Drive Champion, will participate in a special contest to support ECCO.

The 2016 Gala, sponsored by Roper St. Francis Healthcare, will take place on Friday, May 13, also at the exquisite Daniel Island Club. The evening will include live music by The Vistas, dancing, games, fantastic Lowcountry cuisine, complimentary wine and beer, a silent auction with more than 80 items, and an exciting live auction hosted by Benefit Auctioneer Specialist, Tom Crawford. The auctions will feature vacation packages, JetBlue travel vouchers, NFL game tickets, luxury handbags, autographed sports memorabilia, golf outings, local cultural events and artwork, and more. ECCO is pleased to be using Bidr, the Mount Pleasant-based software firm that offers an accessible mobile giving platform for nonprofits.

Proceeds from the Golf Tournament and Gala will go directly to support ECCO’s programs that serve low-income households throughout the Lowcountry. ECCO assists those in need by providing food, clothing, financial assistance, dental and medical services, and financial literacy and education programs. The goal of this year’s Golf Ball is to raise $200,000 to funds these programs and services. Tickets for the tournament are $250 per person, $1,250 for a Foursome before April 22 ($1,500 after April 22). General admission tickets to the Gala are $125 per person, $200 for reserved seating, and $1,750 for a table to seat eight guests. Lead sponsors include: Roper St. Francis, Nucor, David and Laura Stone Family, Wando River Marina, Boeing, Dick and Susanne Query, and Leisure Depot.
