Final Month of Liu Zhuoquan
If have yet to see Ten Cubed's Liu Zhuoquan exhibition we have a surprise for you.

With a month left of the show Ten Cubed has one last addition to Liu Zhuoquan's exhibition. Just delivered from China is a beautiful new light globe that has become part of Zhuoquan's Fallen Sparrow piece.

Here at Ten Cubed we have experienced a flood of people through our doors since the exhibition opened. Zhouquan's exquisitely hand painted glass lanterns and bottles have been received with curiosity and amazement. Don't miss out on this opportunity to see a newly painted work.

Liu Zhuoquan is represented by Niagara Galleries

Closing on the 21st May

Noel McKenna
Ten Cubed is proud to announce our second exhibition for 2016.

Born in Brisbane, Queensland in 1956, Noel studied architecture at Queensland University in 1974 and 1975. He continued his education at Brisbane College of Arts from 1976 to 1978 and then at Alexander Mackie College, Sydney in 1981. Since then he has exhibited extensively in Australia and overseas, holding solo exhibitions in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Hobart, as well as Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Ireland and New Zealand.

Noel McKenna was one of the first artists Ten Cubed started collecting when the project began back in 2010. Before this Ten Cubed's Director, Dianne Gringlas and many other collectors around the world,  had admired McKenna's craftsmanship and ability to catch the everyday moment and transfigure its perspective.

'Noel McKenna has an eye for the seemingly banal yet incredibly loaded and poetic moment.'  Dan Rule

Ten Cubed's forthcoming exhibition of McKenna's works aspires to combine his vast use of different mediums, such as oils, etchings and ceramics. Allowing for an in depth experience to the artists way of creating.

Noel McKenna is represented by Niagara Galleries in Melbourne and Darren Knight Gallery in Sydney.

The exhibition will run from 31 May to 27 August

Save the Date

Alongside the exhibition Ten Cubed will host a Q&A event with Noel McKenna and Gregory O'Brien on 8 June. Noel and Gregory will discuss common themes in Noel's work, his use of different mediums and artists that have influenced his practice over the years. Following the Q&A there will be a poetry reading by Gregory and his wife Jenny Bornholdt. Gregory and Jenny have worked with Noel extensively on projects in the past and have both published books which incorporated drawings by Noel.

Farewell and good luck!
After two and a half years at Ten Cubed, Elsa our gallery manger will be leaving us in May. Elsa began assisting Ten Cubed’s first manager Adam Siddaway as a volunteer, taking over the mantle of running the gallery when Adam returned to teaching in 2014. Elsa thoroughly enjoyed working closely with artists and was responsible for the set up of three of Ten Cubed's well received exhibitions, David Rosetzky, Jonathan Delafield Cook and most recently Liu Zhuoquan.

Elsa also worked to grow and develop Ten Cubed's education program in partnership with Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA), presenting to over forty school groups during her time as manager.

As a strong supporter of art and education, Elsa has made a positive contribution to Ten Cubed. She will continue her support for the gallery, returning for guest appearances as a speaker at education events and as exhibition photographer.
