For 3rd Year Transition to Upper Elementary and 5th Year Graduation--which will be part of our Spring Music Program on Friday, May 6--we would like to have a baby picture of each child in 3rd and 5th Year, please. You may send the photo electronically to Mary Nur, or you may send a photo to school, 5 x 7 inches or larger, and we will scan it here. If the photo is framed, please remove from the frame before sending it to school.

Want some stimulating class opportunities for your child this summer? Read on!
Primary Summer Program is available to children ages 3 up to kindergarten. The Summer Program is an ideal way to keep your child engaged this summer, and it is also a fabulous "jump-start" into kindergarten. The SP is taught in our classroom, led by Mrs. Barbara Foreman and by Ms. Kelly Wilson. We would love to have your child! Click here for enrollment form.

*2016-2017 CALENDAR CHANGES*

Since we use common spaces with TIS, we model our calendar in conjunction with theirs. Please note two changes to the 2016-17 calendar that was previously published:
>Since January 1 falls on a Sunday, Winter Break continues through Monday, followed by Teachers' Inservice on Tuesday. School resumes on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
>Spring Break has been changed to March 20-24 (previously March 13-17).
Please click here to view. Note one change from previous years which deals with Parent Teacher Conferences in October. Because of requests from working parents, we have added evening conferences on Wednesday, October 19. On Thursday, conference appointments will be available from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Friday there will be no school. We hope that this change will better accommodate your needs.

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK, JR. PERFORMANCES THIS WEEKEND

If you want some musical entertainment for your family, and to revisit songs from YOUR past, come to Schoolhouse Rock, Jr., on this Friday and Sunday. Look for WMS students Simon Young, Shlok Prabhu, Tanisha Kulkarni, Scarlett Barrientos, Mia Bosarge, and T.J. Lewis. Click here for show times and for more information.

Field Day is a day of fun for kindergarten through 5th year elementary students. This year's event will be on Friday, May 13 (Rain date, Monday, May 16). WMS families join TIS families and enjoy field games, relays, and playing outside. Kindergarten through 2nd year elementary will enjoy Field Day in the morning, and 3rd-5th year elementary students in the afternoon.
Times:
K, 1, 2 9:00-11:00 AM
3, 4, 5 12:30- 2:30 PM
Parents are invited to volunteer to help run games, serve refreshments, or just to come and cheer us on!

MUSIC PROGRAM NOTES
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?
|
|
As you know, our Spring Music Program, including ceremonies for Upper Elementary Graduation and Transition from Lower to Upper Elementary, is scheduled for Friday, May 6, at 1:00 PM. The program will be followed by a cookie reception in our classroom, after which children are dismissed for the day. We hope that all of our families will attend.
As the this year's program has a patriotic theme, please send children in red, white, or blue clothing. Girls, this is an opportunity to wear your best dress, or pants. Boys, please wear red, white, or blue (or black) slacks--no khaki, and no jeans, please. Flip-flops or high-heeled shoes are not recommended, as students will be on risers on the stage.
