Mimona Sisterhood Program

After Passover, mark your calendar for a first time event in Winter Springs … Mimona!  What is mimona? – It's a North African (Mizrachi) holiday marking the end of Passover.

In Israel, Mimouna is a relatively new holiday that is quickly becoming a national holiday observed with barbeques in the parks and family visits. The name of the holiday has several fascinating meanings including the most famous – that it is connected to “emuna” (faith) and the death of Rambam (Maimonides).

So, join us on Sunday, May 1 at 10:30 am for a unique opportunity to learn about this holiday as well as make and eat mufleta (and find out what that is!). RSVP by April 28 to sisterhoodcfs@gmail.com.

Monday, May 2 at 7:00 pm, come and enjoy a great game of Texas Hold‘em, OmahaRazzStud and more (or learn how!). Refreshments will be available and it all goes down in the Lounge. When you arrive, enter through the front of the temple. All are welcome!

Sponsored by Temple Israel’s Men’s Club. Questions? Please call Wayne Bilsky at (407) 539-2705.

The annual JFS Pantry Restock Challenge collects food for distribution in the Pearlman Food Pantry at JFS.

When you clean out your pantries for Passover in the coming days, donate your chametz to JFS.  Just return your filled bags to Temple Israel before Passover.
