Dear *|HTML:NAME|* :

We are sending this newsletter to inform you about recent and upcoming events.
CutPro's Tool Editor (tool database) is currently being enhanced. We have just added Boring/Turning and Drilling tool support, and we plan on integrating FRFs as well. We have also done bug fixes and we are continuing working on new versions of MALTF and MALDAQ.

The Tool Editor allows the user to create tool geometry visually and save tool files for future use. Boring/Turning & Drilling module support added.

How it works
Create all your tools (and save them) prior to creating simulations within CutPro. Call the tool file into your workspace, or if you prefer, create a tool on-the-fly.

Future work
CutPro's Tool Editor (tool database) is currently being enhanced. We have just added Boring/Turning and Drilling tool support, and we plan on integrating FRFs as well.
Receptance coupling allows the user to perform less tap-test measurements, and determine the predicted FRF of a cutting tool & holder at its tip for a specific machine tool.

How it works
This is done by measuring the machine's spindle FRF using a holder, and subtracting that holder from the tap-test measurement. We are then able to create predicted tooltip FRFs by inputting holder geometry and tool geometry, along with their material properties, and coupling them to the spindle FRF. We will add more features to this tool as CutPro progresses.

Npro 0.1.0.6215 - Release Contents
  • Improved Data Plots - SciCharts plots, which load faster and more powerful
  • In-process workpiece (IPW) - Accelerates engagement maps calculation
  • Save final STL: The machined part can now be saved
  • Compare simulation data: Compare all simulation data before/after optimization

ChatterPro Mobile (Android) allows the user to potentially detect chatter vibrations during machining using your smartphone device.

How it works
Enter your spindle speed and number of flutes, and hold your phone close to the machining zone. ChatterPro will detect frequencies that do not correspond to machining (noise), and will suggest new speeds to eliminate those vibrations.
IMTS 2016 is one of the largest industrial trade shows in the world, and will be held in Chicago from Sept 12-17, 2016. For the very first time, MAL will feature a private booth. We encourage those attending this trade show to organize meetings with us. Visit us at Booth E5917

The Tap Testing (MALTF) and Data Acquisition (MALDAQ) CutPro modules are currently being updated with a user interface redesign to mimic CutPro 11. This design decision will provide the customer ease of use, as all modules of CutPro will be styled the same. Both modules will contain new features, and workspaces will be based on a project tree layout.
Visit our website to watch short video manuals on impact testing, equipment setup and installation, modal parameters identification, process simulation and proper cutting conditions selection.
