AST and PNSQC

The AST builds relationships and co-markets with other non-profit testing organizations and conferences with similar missions. One of AST's long-standing relationships is with PNSQC - The Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference

PNSQC is holding its 34th (!!!) annual conference in October 2016, in Portland, OR. Speakers at PNSQC are required to write a paper, which is then presented at PNSQC. The in-depth study and level of commitment needed leads to new insights and deeper understanding. PNSQC is offering an extended submission period to AST members.

How do you cultivate great software? How do you grow a great team? What’s your secret for producing a great product? Answer the Call for Presentations! Be at PNSQC 2016.

Share your knowledge and experience on:
•             Getting results from a small and scrappy team
•             Balancing quality, cost, and schedule in a startup
•             Continually optimizing delivery
•             Enabling development productivity with targeted tools
•             Managing risk across a large organization
•             Applying agile practices to deliver

Cultivating quality requires hard work from the entire team: including developers, architects, quality assurance engineers, and project managers. Everyone contributes to producing quality.

Just starting your software career or are a seasoned professional, we are all looking for ways to make better software, meet market demands, and drive business success. There are “How to & FAQ” to help you along, come and tell us about:
•             Innovations for delivering quality software
•             Tools that make the difference in development process
•             How automation has affected your testing
•             How continuous improvement has changed your work
•             Which technologies have had the greatest impact on quality
•             What methods produce results for preventing and detecting problems

For AST members, the Deadline to submit an abstract is extended to May 8.

Come on, tell us, be a speaker, go to pnsqc.org

Sponsorship And Grants

Since the AST has started to sponsor other conferences and events, a couple of members had questions as to how this all works and how we distinguish between the different activities. As for now, we have three different ways where money flows in some capacity, according to our mission: Grants, Sponsorship of AST events, and AST sponsoring other events. This post describes the differences and guidelines.
