Mt. Pisgah Update
April 27, 2016
"Surf Shack" Vacation Bible School Needs Your Help!
We have had a tremendous registration response to our preschoolers-only session of “Surf Shack” VBS, almost filling all the classes in a record 3 days!! We are so excited to be able to offer this time of fun and Christian learning to these little ones!
But we need your help - we have the children, now we need volunteers to work with them!! We have volunteer opportunities for lots of different areas of interest (science, crafts, childcare, Bible storytelling, taking photos, fixing snacks, etc.). You can volunteer to help 1, 2 or all 3 days, so there’s sure to be something to fit even the busiest schedule. Please check your calendars for May 31-June 2, 9:30am-12:30pm and prayerfully consider how you can be a part of this awesome ministry! Come join us as we catch the wave of God’s amazing love!! To sign up to volunteer, please click here.
Flying Squirrels Game
The children from Mt. Pisgah Preschool have been busy reading with their families in order to participate in the Richmond Flying Squirrels “Go Nuts for Reading!” program.
Our preschool families will be attending a game on Friday, April 29 at 7:05pm. This is a fundraising event for our preschool. Tickets are available through the preschool office for the general admission price of $8. For every ticket sold, the preschool keeps $3. If any Mt. Pisgah UMC families would like to attend the game, please feel free to purchase your tickets through the preschool!
Upcoming Study: Half-Truths
"Everything happens for a reason." "God helps those who help themselves." We've heard these sayings (and others) most of our lives. But are they true? What does the Bible say?

Join us for this 5-week study, beginning Wednesday, May 11, at 11:00 am or 6:30 pm in Room 107/109. You can sign up here or contact the church office at 794-5856.

Joni & Friends Disability Center: Wheels for the World - Thousands of disabled children and their parents are crying out for help right now. God does not ignore their cries and neither can we. “Hope Overflowing: 100,000 by 2020” is a bold new Joni & Friends initiative to deliver wheelchairs and the Gospel to 100,000 disabled children and adults by the year 2020. You can help. The United Methodist Women will begin collecting manual wheelchairs, folding walkers, and metal crutches or canes beginning on Sunday, May 1.

The UMW will be having their next meeting on Saturday, May 21, in CFLC A beginning at 10 am, so bring a friend and join us for this wonderful program.

For more information on these programs contact Kay Smith at 370-1591 or see the bulletin board in the Gathering Room.
Belmont UMC Food Pantry
Help Needed

The volunteer team from Mt. Pisgah working at Belmont UMC's Food Pantry every Friday needs your help. If you are interested in feeding local people in need, Belmont has a spot for you on whatever Fridays you can assist.
Volunteers from Mt. Pisgah help this smaller church hand out fresh produce, meat, breads, and desserts. Volunteers work from 9am-1pm and help feed over 1,000 people each week in this very organized program. Mt. Pisgah volunteers are asked to help one Friday per month. If you feel God calling you to help out, please contact June Adams at sea4ever@verizon.net or 804-379-0096.
