Scientific and Technological Council renewal
Chaired by Yves Caseau, SystemX's Scientific and Technological Council consists of 10 permanent members and 2 guest members from academic and industrial sectors. On April 14th, SystemX's Board of Directors voted in a new Council composition. SystemX renewed 8 members and has the pleasure to welcome: Patrick Bastard, Jean-Claude Bocquet, Éric Bonjour, Gilles Dowek, Paulien Herder, Denis Gardin, Bertrand Maury and Michèle Sebag.

Activity report 2015

Futur en Seine
Futur en Seine is the most important event in Europe dedicated to innovation. Free and open to everyone, it offers a total immersion in the digital world through conferences, workshops and meetings. SystemX will participate in this event from 9th to 12th June to present its R&D projects.

SystemX is a partner of the Alliancy Award, which recognizes the best alliances between large companies, SMEs, public authorities, startups… and the digital industry players. You led a successful partnership project? Promote it by sending your application before June 3rd.

SiMSEO
SiMSEO has been officially launched by Teratec and Genci in April 2016 as part of the PIA (investments for the future Program) call for interest “Diffusion of digital simulation in the industry”. This promising initiative serves to raise companies’ awareness about current industrial challenges and train them to digital simulation practices. SystemX, as a partner of SiMSEO, will organize and conduct digital simulation training sessions.

TAC Forum
On April 28th, Paul Labrogère, Autonomous Transport Program Director, gave a talk about the connected vehicles at the TAC (Technology Against Crime) Forum. This event provides a high level meetings series for the security-conscious international community to discuss the expectations of public and private stakeholders, the thoughts of the research community, and developments in the security industry.

BFM Business
On April 7th, François Stephan, Deputy CEO – International & Development, spoke in the TV show “Tech&Co” on the following topic: “Autonomous cars: the car of tomorrow already exists”. He emphasized that France has the capacity to become a center of excellence in the fields of autonomous cars, embedded systems and security. He also presented some works done within the LRA project related to the use of augmented reality in autonomous vehicles.

ETSI
SystemX is now registered as a member of ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute. This institute produces globally-applicable standards for Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), including fixed, mobile, radio, converged, broadcast and Internet technologies. Its standards enable the technologies on which business and society rely.

Research and Innovation Spring
On April 4th, François Stephan participated in a panel session on “Safety and control of risks: build together a based-trust territory” at the 2016 Research and Innovation Spring in the Val d’Oise department.

On April 7th, Raïssa Pokam, PhD student in the LRA project, participated in the Paris-Saclay final competition of “My thesis within 180 seconds”. She presented her research efforts on “Augmented Reality Adaptative Human-Machine Interface for the Autonomous Automotive Driving” to a larger audience in only 3 minutes.

Holiship project
The Holiship H2020 European Project proposal has been validated by the European Commission and will be launched in September 2016. Holiship’s consortium is composed of 40 partners (shipbuilders, outfitters and European laboratories) who will work together to innovate in the ship design processes, materials and tools. Within the consortium, SystemX will work with DCNS to provide its expertise on engineering methods and tools for systems definition, in coordination with the ISC project.

ISE project
On May 3rd, SNCF organized a workshop on autonomous car for the railway sector. Pierpaolo Cincilla, research engineer in the ISE project, made a presentation on “Autonomous transport: technological locks and challenges”.

EIC and SCE projects

The EIC (Environment for Cybersecurity Interoperability and Integration) and SCE (Smart City Energy Analytics) projects attended the ENGIE Research & Technology Day on April 13th. They presented their demonstrations on cybersecurity and smart territories to the ENGIE Group employees and partners.

ROM/SIM seminar
The second ROM/SIM seminar of the year occurred on April 14th in Paris with over 50 researchers, engineers, PhD students and partners. This day was punctuated by workshops and plenary sessions in order to continue to prepare the next steps on simulation and optimization research.

Leasecom joined SAAS Academy
Leasecom, subsidiary of the territorial cooperative group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, joined SAAS Academy on May 2nd. This initiative led by SystemX serves to raise awareness and assist software suppliers in their strategy to migrate to cloud solutions. Leasecom will bring its financing expertise to SAAS Academy.

On April 26th, SystemX held a meeting, organized in association with Université Paris-Saclay and CEA, with representatives from the Singapore Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The objective was to present each entity’s activity and to identify possible collaborations. A presentation of the Anthropolis Chair and a demonstration of the CHESS (Cybersecurity Hardening Environment for Systems of Systems) platform were made.

CoSMo and SystemX are reinventing Smart Territories

With its modeling and simulation platform and its unique systemic approach, The CoSMo Company is exploring and developing solutions in partnership with SystemX, within the framework of the innovation plan on Modeling and Optimization of Smart Territories. These projects deal with modeling, interoperability and cooperation in the fields of transportation (MIC project) and smart energy grids (SCE project).

BFMTV highlights supercomputers
On April 12th, Philippe Vannier, BULL Group Chief Technology Officer, Gérard Roucairol, Teratec President, Philippe Feyel, Head of Safran Tech Modelling & Simulation Department, and Jean-Pierre Corniou, SIA Partners Deputy CEO, were invited on the BFM Business “Tech&Co” TV Show on the subject of supercomputers. On the same day, ATOS revealed its new supercomputer: Bull Sequana, “the first exascale-class supercomputer offering a thousand times more performance than current petaflops-scale systems”.

ESI Group and Prove&Run are UBIMobility 2016 participants
The UBIMobility program has been launched in 2015 by Business France and Bpifrance to enable 8 innovative companies from the French automotive industry to kickstart their business in United States. ESI Group and Prove&Run are both part of the 8 companies who will have the opportunity to meet key stakeholders of connected and autonomous car sectors in United States from 4th to 18th June!
