Well I have arrived back in Prague safe and sound. I don't have a lot to report on yet. I've just spent the last few days settling in and getting back into a rhythm. It's a bit odd for me because right up until the day before I left Prague for my six months in the States, my days were fairly regimented. I had long hours of language study, followed by homework, followed by football. Now that I don't have to commit 5+ hours a day to language, my time is a little more flexible.
I have written a blog detailing the transition back into life abroad. It answers a few questions that I was asked while I was home so I encourage you to click on this link and check it out!
Language wise, I will look to continue to improve my Czech with a private tutor. I'm hoping to meet three times a week for at least an hour each session. Language study will still be central to my schedule, but now I'll have some flexibility outside of that to do some other ministry functions.
The Lions are now 4-1 overall, and 4-0 in the Czech league. We had a game the day after I got back, which made it interesting for me with jet lag. We won, but I saw we needed a huge improvement to our play on the offensive line. As of that game we are last in the league in rushing yards. We worked on some stuff during the week and over this past weekend in my second game back, we managed to put together a few good drives running the ball. We are still inconsistent, but things did get better in the one week that I had with them in practice.
The missional community that I am involved with here in Prague had a nice little welcome back party for me my first meeting back. That's what the picture above is from. Zach's wife, Misa, made quite a nice spread of food and quite a few of my players and friends made it for the party.
