The New Great Game: China and South and Central Asia in the Era of Reform by Thomas Fingar (Stanford University Press) examines what has happened during the three decades of China's rise, with the goal of deeper understanding of China's national priorities and policies with and among neighboring countries.
Advancing U.S.-Japan-ROK Trilateral Cooperation: A U.S. Perspective by Daniel C. Sneider (National Bureau of Asian Research) analyzes the trilateral relationship from a U.S. perspective, highlighting the critical role the United States has played in mediating tensions between South Korea and Japan.
