Pastor Linda Norman, ELCA Treasurer, oversaw the bishop election process and delivered the Churchwide address (you can fast forward to 22:30 for Bishop Kanouse's introduction). She references the ELCA Churchwide Assembly (August 8-13) and the Grace Gathering (August 10-13), both being held in New Orleans, LA, and that we are encouraging folks to attend.
The Rev. Dr. Jay Alanis, Executive Director and Associate Professor of Theology, Culture and Mission at the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest, led the Bible studies for this Assembly.
