The Associated Artists of Pittsburgh (AAP), the oldest and largest artist-run visual arts group in the country will open the 105-year-old annual exhibition at Carnegie Museum of Art in Oakland on Saturday, May 14, 2016. The exhibition is on view until August 15th, 2016. Sarah Lehrer-Graiwer, an art writer and curator in Los Angeles, served as the exhibition juror.

The AAP annual exhibition is the longest and oldest continuing survey exhibition of regional art in the country. This year’s exhibition features 62 artworks created by a total of 56 artists. Painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and drawing are brought together in the exhibition. The juror notes: “The range of practices and styles remains wide, while proximity begins to reveal compositional affinities, resonant subject matter, related processes, and sympathetic palettes between artists.” A total of 324 artists submitted 650 artworks to be considered for the exhibition.
