Help UA Get Recycling Right

Beginning Monday, May 2, 2016, watch for increased enforcement of the requirements for correct recycling

Great recycling intentions don’t always translate to great recycling habits, and we have found that UA's current practices are not in alignment with the items accepted at the Rumpke Recycling Facility (the only regional collection facility available to municipalities like UA). After a month of outreach to residents about this issue, please be advised that our solid waste provider, Republic Services, will begin to increase enforcement of the recycling requirements starting next week.

For residents who are not recycling correctly, this could result in non-collection of your recyclables. We hope you have seen our efforts to raise awareness about the "dos and don'ts" of recycling, and that you have already made some adjustments to how and what you recycle. But if you come home to find your recycling has not been collected in the coming weeks, please bring it back to your house/garage and double check that you are using the right type of container and that all the contents can be recycled. Then put your recycling back out at the curb in time for your next regularly scheduled collection day.

We appreciate your help and support as UA tries to get its recycling right. Click on the handout pictured here or the link below for more details. And thank you.

Street Sweeping
Please move cars parked on streets
All UA streets are being swept this spring, to clear our streets of sediment and any leftover fall leaves and to keep our storm sewers clear of debris that would otherwise end up in our natural waterways and streams. Watch for signage at key residential streets in advance of street sweeping in your area or for updates on our website and Facebook/Twitter feeds. You can assist this process by moving parked cars from the street from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays when sweeping is in your area.

Don't Let the Construction Keep You Away!
Tremont Center Businesses, Tremont Library, Senior Center Still Open for Business
It may be a little more challenging than usual to get to your favorite stores and restaurants at the Tremont Center, check out books and movies from the Tremont Library or enjoy social time and the programs offered at the Senior Center, but don't let the Tremont Road construction dissuade you. Everyone is open for business and hoping you will stop by to show your appreciation for the services they provide us all—on good traffic days and bad traffic days. Your patronage is important to them, so don't let a little old thing like construction keep you away. Click the links above to remind yourself of what you shouldn't be missing out on!
