JOHN McCUTCHEON HEADLINING      2016 TUCSON FOLK FESTIVAL
With Special Guests
James Reams and the Barnstormers

NOMINATED FOR 2016 ALBUM OF THE YEAR
by Folk Alliance International

John McCutcheon's album Joe Hill's Last Will was the 2015 #1 Album (most played album) and #1 Artist (most played artist) of 2015 by Folk DJ Charts!
From such inauspicious beginnings, John McCutcheon has emerged as one of our most respected and loved folksingers. As an instrumentalist, he is a master of a dozen different traditional instruments, most notably the rare and beautiful hammer dulcimer. His songwriting has been hailed by critics and singers around the globe. His thirty recordings have garnered every imaginable honor including seven Grammy nominations. He has produced over twenty albums of other artists, from traditional fiddlers to contemporary singer-songwriters to educational and documentary works. His books and instructional materials have introduced budding players to the joys of their own musicality. And his commitment to grassroots political organizations has put him on the front lines of many of the issues important to communities and workers.

James Reams formed the Barnstormers in 1993. Coming from a family of traditional singers in southeastern Kentucky, James has played both old-time and bluegrass music since he was just a little sprout. James is known as an “ambassador of Bluegrass” for his dedication to and deep involvement in the thriving bluegrass and Americana music community.

NANCY McCALLION
and The Scarlet Lettermen

with Heather Hardy and Special Guests
      2016 FOLK FESTIVAL LOCAL HEADLINER

TKMA is so proud to welcome Nancy McCallion and The Scarlet Lettermen to our Local Headliner Performer Family, performing Sunday on the Plaza Stage with Heather Hardy and Special Guests!   Nancy is best known as the songwriter and vocalist for original Celtic-Norteno-you-name-it folk-rock cult band The Mollys. The band took a break in 2001, when McCallion stopped to have a child, and disbanded in 2003, after a last tour of Italy. She never quit writing, and resumed live performance and recording as a solo over the last 13 years.  Although often compared favorably to Lucinda Williams and other leading female writers, McCallion's sharp takes on life lived small also bring to mind Tom Wait's dark, quirky tales. Catch Nancy's track "On We Go" on Putamayo's Women of the World: Celtic along with Mary Black, Clannad, Maura O'Connell, Capercaillie and others.
