METRO Accelerator kicks off second round together with Techstars
 METRO Accelerator, powered by Techstars, is commencing the application process for its second program for startups, whose digital services and companies could give a direct boost to the commercial success of restaurants, hotels and catering businesses. From now until June 20, interested startups from all over the world can submit an application for the program on www.metroaccelerator.com.

This article does a great job explaining how makerspaces are helping to close the gender gap. That is one of the many things I love about makerspaces: you get a bunch of different people, with different backgrounds, skills and dreams in the same room sharing their passions with each other.

If you were hoping to get that Glowforge set up in your makerspace this fall... think again. I still think this is a nice product idea with an integrated air cleaner. Hopefully we'll all get to see it a makerspace near us soon...-ish.

Cardboard is a wonderful material. Check out this article on MAKE for some basic ideas. If you really want some good techniques though email me and I'll send you a some .pdf "how to" for folding, scoring, and making your cardboard into lots of fun and useful shapes!
