Saturday Morning Qigong Practice

Let's gather each Saturday in May from 9:00-9:40 am at Lafortune Park's Garden Entrance off of 51st, east of Yale and just west of Hudson.

Our practice will focus on the 9 Phases of Qigong
Discovering, Gathering, Circulating, Purifying, Directing, Conserving, Storing, Transforming and Dissolving into Qi

Practice is in a beautiful, outdoor setting. We meet unless there is current precipitation.

If your mobility is limited, please bring a chair and practice with us.
You may want to take off your shoes.

Qigong (qi "chee" =energy, gong "kung" =cultivation) an ancient Chinese practice of energy movement, done daily by millions of individuals. Using slow movement with metaphors, it helps you get energy moving through your body and helps your mind focus so that your energy can freely help your body rejuvenate and heal itself.

Let's Connect to The Source
I happened to put my grandma's rosary on my desk. One morning as I sat down, it drew my attention. When holding it and feeling the etchings of the cross with my thumb, I heard in my head "be with all the believers" and immediately i could see 1,000's of people in my mind's eye. I could tell I was in "a space". I moved to the next bead and I heard "be with love". I felt open and aware. As I moved to each bead, it seemed that either words or a picture came to my mind. I didn't linger and I didn't analyze. I stayed with the flow until I reached the end of the beads once again. After my experience, I felt serenely connected to all beings, spirits, animals, and matter. It was a beautiful practice and one that I stumbled upon. If you're having trouble sitting on the cushion, or quieting your mind, or even saying your prayers, perhaps this is a way for you to use a rosary, string of beads, or a mala to step out of an expectation and connect to The Source.
