Congregational Meeting: There will be a congregational meeting on May 15 following the first service. Items to be discussed will be approval of the budget and election of new deacons and elders. Please plan to be a part of the important business of Center Grove Church. There will be no adult Sunday School that day so that older kids can be a part of this important meeting. See you at 9:30 on May 15.
Vacation Bible School: Be a part of the Walk This Way VBS team and sign- up today in the lobby. This year’s VBS takes place on Sunday, June 19 through Thursday, June 23. Dinner begins at 5:00p.m. followed by VBS from 6-8p.m. In addition, we will have a special Family Experience on Friday, June 24 followed by an all night family camp out on the church property, bring you tents, sleeping bags, and snacks to share. Join us as we learn to follow Jesus every day of our lives! In addition, you can also be a part of VBS by helping us purchase much needed supplies. Pick up a donation card in the lobby and return the items to the marked table in Fellowship Hall by May 17. Thank you for your generosity and prayers for this year's Walk This Way experience!!!
Recycle Drive: Only one more week! There is a box in the lobby for these items & we will be collecting them until Mother's Day. All products must be rinsed (if they contained liquid) and caps attached. We appreciate your help with this worthy project.
Prison Ministry Garage Sale: May 7 from 8-3, The Kairos Prison Ministry of Indiana is holding a garage sale to raise funds for their ministry of incarcerated men, women and youth. Their goal is to change hearts, transform lives, and impact the world. They are looking for clean, sellable, working items but no clothing. If you have something that fits this description and would like to donate to this ministry, please take those items to the Baxter YMCA located on South Shelby Street in Indianapolis.
Church Directory Updates: It's that time again! It's been a year since we produced the last directory. Lots of things can change in a year and we don't want you to miss anything important. If you've had a change of address, phone, email address or any other information, please use the forms you will find in the bulletin over the next several weeks. office@centergrovechurch.org and she can get your information updated this way as well. We will be producing an updated directory the first of June. Please take the time to check over your information in the current paper directory (not the pictorial) to see if what we have the most up to date!
Fine Art
s Academy: Wizard of Oz will be performing this weekend and this will likely sell out! The performances for this show will be held at Lutheran High School and seating is assigned when you purchase your tickets. Don't wait too long to purchase your tickets in order to get the best seats! Wizard of Oz is April 29, 30 & May 1. Joseph will be June 3-5.
Community Volunteer Opportunity:
If you’re looking for a way to volunteer in our community; the Deacons will be serving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House in Indianapolis (on the IUPUI campus). We will serve on Tuesday, May 3rd from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. You’ll be able to sign up on Sunday, April 17 & 24. There are opportunities to go to Ronald McDonald House or to provide food or supplies. This is a great opportunity for individuals or families. You can contact Bev Gotwals at bev.gotwals@comcast.net for any questions you may have.
CGC Work Days: Please mark your calendars today for two important work days!! May 14 and June 11. Be watching for specific times in the weeks to come. There are some odd jobs that need to be done and we could use some extra hands. Our building and grounds volunteers would welcome the extra help. Marsh Fundraiser: CGC will be participating in a new fundraiser with Marsh. This event will take place from May 26-29. When you present your coupon, CGC will receive 5% of all receipts for each coupon used during this three day time period. All you need to do is take the coupon that we provide and present it at check out. This is a good time to visit Marsh to purchase all your Memorial day food or graduation cakes. Christ Youth Bible Club: Christ Youth Bible Club is a ministry that teaches children to know God's Word and to live it out. These Bible Clubs meet after school in our Franklin Community elementary and intermediate schools. This school year, approximately 330 students are hearing God's Word each week! CYBC's goal for Franklin Community's clubs is to raise $3,000 for the 2016-2017 school year. These funds will help pay for the curriculum, materials, and snacks for each of the clubs. In our effort to reach this goal, we are holding a skate party fundraiser at the Franklin Skate Club on Sunday, May 1st from 3:30-6pm. Admission is $3 and skate rental is $2. We would LOVE for our supporting church families to join in on this fun afternoon of skating with friends and family to some pretty awesome Christian music. Hope to see you there!
