Changing Eternity for 25 Years
Lost Sheep Ministry is celebrating 25 years of serving the homeless in East Tennessee. We have never missed a Wednesday night and consider it a privilege to partner with Christ in an ongoing effort to change eternity. Most people may not understand what it means to change eternity. It is true that while we are created beings, there is not much we can do to change eternity's framework; however, we do have a role to play in shaping what eternity looks like. For Lost Sheep, it is more than offering a hot meal, warm clothes to wear, or dental and medical attention to the most broken and needy in Knoxville. It is the opportunity to change a life, and ultimately change eternity....it is all about helping people move!
Last Wednesday night under the bridge, a distraught woman was walking near the prayer table and caught the attention of one of the volunteers at the table. Blair noticed her demeanor and walked up to her to find out what was wrong. To Blair's surprise, this woman's plan was to kill herself with sleeping pills while in the portable restroom. After a long conversation, the woman prayed to receive Christ as her Lord and Savior!
Jude 1:22-23 states: "And have mercy on some, who are doubting; save others, snatching them out of the fire.." Due to Blair and the team at the prayer table, one life was snatched out of the fire of depression and offered new life and a place in eternity with Christ! Eternity was changed and one more saved life moved into the neighborhood of heaven! Please consider giving today as we continue seeking to snatch the broken and hurting out of the fire.
