Teacher Appreciation
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week.
I have had the opportunity to do quite a bit of traveling in the past 30+ years. If I combine the schools my own children have attended with the number of schools I have taught in, it adds up to eight different elementary school staffs (in five different states) that I became very familiar with. I can honestly say that the St. John faculty is the best one I have ever come to know. The teachers here are exceptional. The families of St. John School are very blessed to have such dedicated individuals, who work as a team, to expand the knowledge of the children in their care.
Please take this opportunity to appreciate their efforts; whether it be an email, a card, a handshake or something else. Please join me in thanking them, in some small way, for all they do.

Wednesday was Administrative Assistant Day. Mrs. Robinson's list of duties go way beyond administrative and we are extremely blessed to have her here at St. John School.
Honor Cord Ceremony
Please join us on Thursday, May12th as we recognize our middle school students for their service to their community. Honor cords will be given out to students that have fulfilled their service requirements.
KWWL Alerts
If you subscribe to KWWL text messaging services for weather information and/or school delays and closings, you need to know that those messages will stop on April 29, 2016. Instead, you will have to download KWWL News App on your Smart-phone. The app features severe weather information, school closings and live streaming video.
2016 - 17 SJS Calendar
Next year's calendar has been approved by the school board, but it won't be published on our website until June. However, you can see it in its entirety by clicking HERE. If you are having difficulty opening the link, the first day of school is August 23.
Summer Camp & School
Hard-copy registration forms were distributed to the students. Please send in your registration form this week. Payment is not due until the first day of Summer Camp or School but we need to schedule aides, if needed, and we'd like to give them as much notice as possible. You may call the school at 319-334-7173 and speak with Mrs. Robinson if you can't find your form.
