On Sunday, April 24, over 1,500 participants came out to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens in support of the HEAL Zoo Walk for Autism. It was a perfect day at the zoo and all who attended had a wonderful time.

The Zoo Walk raised over $50,000, which will assist individuals with Autism living in Northeast Florida. A special thanks to Nimnicht Family of Dealerships who sponsored the HEAL after party “Party with Patty” Hosted by Patty Crosby. The PGA TOUR sponsored free zoo train rides for all participants and free carousel rides for all were compliments of Intrepid Capital Management.

The top four fundraising teams were able to designate a total of $2,500 to a school or organization of their choice. The first place team, 1st place - Great Strides Rehabilitation - $1,000, 2nd place Team Vision Care (Johnson & Johnson Vision Care)- $750, 3rd Lanier Weed- $500, and 4th place, PVPV Rawlings  Elementary $250.  Please join us in thanking The Community Nutcracker, HEAL’s Grant Award Sponsor, for making this happen.

Thanks to the generosity of HEAL board member, JT Thomas linebacker for the NY Giants, a total of 7 iPads were awarded to top school fundraising teams. Great strides Rehabilitation won 3 iPads. PVPV Rawlings Elementary won 2 iPads, Mainspring Academy and WE Cherry Elementary each won 1 iPad.

Proceeds from the HEAL Zoo Walk will directly benefit children, teens and adults with Autism throughout Northeast Florida.
